Oppo Reno 15 Full Review: Camera, Performance & Daily Use

There are so many smartphones coming into the market these days that it becomes difficult to understand which phone is really worth buying. I recently started using the Oppo Reno 15, and from the very first day I was curious whether it was just limited to looks or was also useful for daily use. After using it for a few days, I now have a clearer idea โ€“ what I liked about it, where I felt a little lacking, and how this phone actually performs in real life.

Camera in Real Life

To be honest, the Oppo Reno 15’s camera is its strongest point. The moment I use it, I can tell that Oppo has put in serious work here.

When clicking photos in daylight, the output is quite sharp and clean. The benefits of the 50MP main camera and OIS are clearly visibleโ€”photos are stable and detail is good. Colors are on the natural side, without the feeling of over-processing.

The ultra-wide camera also proved quite useful. The 116ยฐ field of view makes it easy to capture group shots or wide landscapes. Quality is slightly lower than the main camera, but it’s usable and useful in many situations.

Now the most interesting part โ€“ the telephoto lens. 50MP telephoto + OIS makes the zoom shots surprisingly good. Clicking on subjects in the door while zooming in maintains clarity. I used it a lot in portraits too โ€“ the background blur looks natural and the subject is well highlighted. This gives the phone a slightly premium feel.

The camera did not disappoint me much even in low-light. Using Night mode brightens the photos and recovers details to a great extent. Yes, there is some noise at times, but the overall output is usable.

The front camera is also strong โ€“ 50MP selfie camera with autofocus. Selfies are sharp, and even group selfies keep everyone in focus. The wide FOV lets more people into the frame, which is quite useful.

Shooting modes are plentiful โ€“ Portrait, Night, Pro, Slow-motion, Time-lapse, Dual-view video, and even a doc scanner are available. Meaning, you can try everything from normal photos to creative shots.

Gaming Experince

Based on the testing and reports I have seen, it is clear that the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 + Adreno 722 GPU is a mid-range gaming setup.

  • Games like BGMI and COD run smoothly, but mostly on low settings with up to around 90FPS
  • Heavy games like Genshin Impact run at around 30โ€“40 FPS on low graphics
  • During long gaming sessions, the phone gets a bit warm, but it does not become completely unstable

Real-Life Gaming Experience

  • Casual gaming โ†’ very good, no tension
  • Normal competitive gaming โ†’ manageable
  • Hardcore gaming โ†’ you may feel some compromises

What Feels Good for Gaming?

  • 120Hz display gives a smooth experience
  • Fast touch response
  • Lag-free feel during short gaming sessions

Where It Feels Weak?

  • High graphics + long gaming sessions can cause heating and FPS drops
  • It is not made for ultra-settings gaming
  • Performance is stable, but it does not feel truly powerful

One line me:
Gaming ho jayegiโ€ฆ lekin gaming ke liye phone nahi hai ๐Ÿ˜„”

Waterproof & Durability

When I used the OPPO Reno 15 in daily life, it felt quite reliable in terms of durability. It generally comes with an IP68 / IP69 rating, which means the phone is well protected against water and dust. In simple terms, if the phone accidentally falls into water, there is usually no need to panic.

Talking about depth, it can typically survive in fresh water up to around 1.5 meters for about 30 minutes. So if your phone falls into water or you use it in light rain, it should handle it easily.

However, one important thing to remember is that this protection is mainly for clean water. If it falls into liquids like tea, coffee, soft drinks, or oil, the situation is different. These liquids contain sugar, chemicals, or grease that can damage the phoneโ€™s ports and speakers. So the risk of damage becomes much higher in such cases.

For daily use, if you are a bit rough with your phoneโ€”like carrying it in your pocket, placing it on tables, or exposing it to small splashesโ€”it can handle that without issues. But intentionally putting it in water or testing it is not recommended.

How is it in daily use?

When I used the Oppo Reno 15 in my daily routine, the phone felt quite comfortable. Normal tasks like calling, WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, and browsing all worked without any problems. There’s no lag in opening apps, and switching between apps is smooth.

One thing I liked is its lightweight and slim design. It doesn’t feel heavy when held in your hand or carried in your pocket all day. The screen also feels quite smooth, making scrolling a breeze.

The battery isn’t a problem in daily use either. It easily lasts from morning till night in normal use, and if you use it a little more, there is support for fast charging, which helps a lot.

The UI looks simple and clean, not too confusing. Everything is easily found, so even a new user will not take much time to adjust.

Where does it fail?

To be honest, the Oppo Reno 15 isn’t perfect. There are a few areas where it feels a little lackingโ€”and this is sometimes noticeable during daily use.

First, let’s talk about heavy gaming. Casual gaming is fine, but as soon as you start high graphics or long sessions, the phone starts to heat up a bit, and performance drops. This clearly shows that this phone isn’t made for gaming.

Secondly, the low-light camera. The camera is strong in daylight, but sometimes photos aren’t as clear at night or in low light. There is some noise and detail loss, which can be a bit disappointing if you do a lot of night photography.

The third thing I noticed is long-term heavy usage. If you use too many apps simultaneously or work continuously on the phone, you may experience slight slowdown at times. Not in normal daily use, but the difference is visible in heavy usage.

And one small thing โ€“ if you are a performance-focused user who buys a phone only for speed and power, then this phone will not satisfy you that much. There are more aggressive options available in the market at this price.

Is the Oppo Reno 15 waterproof and durable ?

The Oppo Reno 15 feels water-resistant and quite durable, but it cannot be called fully waterproof. It offers a high-level of protection, due to which this phone can easily handle normal water, rain or accidental splashes. Even if the phone accidentally falls in water, it can survive for some time (about 30 minutes up to around 1.5 meters), but it is considered safe only for clean water.

The risk of damage increases if it falls on things like tea, coffee, oil or salty water, as these contain chemicals and particles that can affect the phone’s interior. In terms of durability, this phone feels quite sturdy for everyday use and can handle minor drops and rough handling, but it’s still best to take extra care.

Final verdict

If I speak honestly, the OPPO Reno 15 is a stylish and camera-focused phone that feels quite smooth in daily use, but the competition in the same price range is strong. The Vivo V70 is a compact phone that offers strong performance along with a good camera, while the OnePlus 13R is clearly better for users who prioritize gaming and speed. On the other hand, the Realme 16 Pro Plus stands out the most in terms of battery life.

So, if you mainly want style and a camera-focused experience, the Reno 15 is a good option. But if you are looking for a practical phone for long-term use, the other options become stronger choices.
