After success of Vivo V70, Vivo is bringing its new V-Series smartphone, the Vivo V80, to India with some major upgrades over the previous generation. The phone comes with a 1.5K 144Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, ZEISS-powered cameras and a large 7200mAh battery.
The Vivo V80 is also one of the first Vivo V-Series phones to come with Android 17-based OriginOS 7. The company is also focusing heavily on photography and video recording, especially portraits and night photography.

Design and Build
The Vivo V80 follows the premium design language of the V-Series. It comes with a glass back and a floating camera module on the rear.
The phone is available in three colours: Stellar Black, Horizon Blue and Sunrise Anthem. The glass back gives the phone a more premium feel, while the curved design helps it look slimmer in the hand.
Vivo has also given the V80 IP68 and IP69 ratings, which provide protection against dust and water under supported test conditions. The phone weighs around 203 grams.
Display
The display is another major upgrade on the Vivo V80.
It gets a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED panel with a resolution of 2750 × 1260 pixels. The display supports up to a 144Hz refresh rate, making scrolling, animations and supported games look smoother.
Vivo claims a local peak brightness of up to 5000 nits, while the display also supports P3 wide colour gamut. The phone can also reduce brightness down to 1 nit for more comfortable viewing in dark environments.
For normal use, watching videos and scrolling social media, this should be one of the key highlights of the Vivo V80.
Performance
The Vivo V80 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 Mobile Platform.
It is a 4nm octa-core chipset with a maximum clock speed of 2.8GHz. Vivo has paired it with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage on the listed configuration.
For daily use, apps, social media and multitasking, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 should have enough power. Gaming performance will also depend on the game settings and optimisation, but the chipset puts the V80 in the upper mid-range performance category rather than the flagship segment.
Vivo V80 Camera

Camera is one of the biggest highlights of the Vivo V80.
At the rear, the phone gets a 50MP ZEISS OIS main camera, a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera and an 8MP ZEISS ultra-wide camera.
The main camera uses the Sony LYTIA 700V sensor and comes with OIS. The dedicated telephoto camera uses the Sony IMX882 sensor, supports OIS and offers 3x optical zoom. Vivo also claims up to 100x zoom.
The telephoto camera is particularly interesting because Vivo is focusing on portraits and night photography. The 50MP telephoto camera is designed to capture portraits with a more natural background separation while also helping with zoom shots.
50MP ZEISS Selfie Camera
For selfies, the Vivo V80 has a 50MP ZEISS Group Selfie Camera.
It comes with autofocus and a 92-degree field of view, making it useful for group selfies as well as normal portraits.
4K Video Recording
Vivo is also focusing on video recording with the V80.
The phone supports 4K 60fps video recording and 4K Cinematic Video features. The rear camera can use OIS for more stable footage, while Vivo also provides different cinematic video styles for creators.
For people who regularly make Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts or travel videos, these features could make the V80 more interesting than a phone that only focuses on photography.
Battery and Charging
Battery life is another big upgrade.
The Vivo V80 comes with a 7200mAh battery, which Vivo describes as the largest battery in its V-Series smartphones launched in India as of October 6, 2026.
The phone also supports 90W FlashCharge. Vivo claims that the battery can reach 50% in around 30 minutes under its specified charging conditions.
A 7200mAh battery should be particularly useful for users who spend a lot of time watching videos, using social media, navigating or gaming.
Software and AI Features
The Vivo V80 runs Android 17 with OriginOS 7.
This is one of the major software changes for the V-Series, bringing Vivo’s newer interface and AI-based features to the phone.
Some of the highlighted features include Snap Notes, which can turn photos of notes or whiteboards into editable documents. Vivo also offers features such as Pet Pals, StickIt and other AI-powered creative tools.
Vivo has also listed up to six years of extended security updates for the V80, although availability and update duration can vary by market and model.
Connectivity and Other Features
The Vivo V80 supports 5G connectivity with dual-SIM support. It also comes with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
For wireless connectivity, the phone supports modern 5G bands, while wired audio is handled through the USB Type-C port. Vivo states that the phone does not support traditional 3.5mm analogue earphones.
Vivo V80 Price in India
Vivo has not yet officially revealed the India price of the Vivo V80.
The phone is scheduled to launch in India on October 6, 2026, and the official pricing will be announced at launch on vivo.com.
Some reports have suggested different possible prices for the Indian market, but these should not be treated as official until Vivo confirms them.
Vivo V80: Who Should Buy It?
The Vivo V80 could be a good option for users who mainly want a phone with a strong camera setup, premium design, large battery and a high-quality display.
The dedicated ZEISS telephoto camera makes it particularly interesting for portrait photography and zoom shots. The 7200mAh battery is another major advantage for heavy users.
However, users who mainly want the highest gaming performance should also compare the V80 with phones using more powerful flagship-level chipsets before making a decision.

Final Verdict
The Vivo V80 is not just a camera-focused V-Series phone. Vivo has also worked on the display, battery, software and overall durability.
The combination of a 50MP ZEISS main camera, dedicated 50MP telephoto camera, 50MP selfie camera, 1.5K 144Hz OLED display and 7200mAh battery makes the V80 a feature-packed smartphone.
The final picture will depend heavily on its India price. If Vivo keeps the pricing competitive, the V80 could attract users who want a premium-looking phone with strong cameras, long battery life and a smooth display without moving to a flagship smartphone.
